Global Manufacturing Festival Sheffield

The Tinsley Bridge Group has confirmed its attendance at Britain’s biggest event designed for industrial suppliers to meet global manufacturing companies – the Global Manufacturing Festival (GMF).

Held at the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre with Boeing on June 25, the Global Manufacturing Festival will host speakers and procurement executives from five prime contractor companies: Jaguar Land Rover, HS2, Siemens Energy, GE Oil & Gas and Airbus.

Representatives from the HS2 rail project will be available specifically to talk to companies about accessing its procurement processes. Siemens Energy will also discuss its supplier needs for the new £160m turbine blade factory in Hull, for when manufacturing starts in late 2016.

The Tinsley Bridge Group will be showcasing its wide ranging engineering solutions capabilities and also UltraStrength220 – an innovative material technology developed with assistance from Sheffield Hallam University to operate at higher loads, reduce weight and increase durability for high stress defence, road and rail applications.

Companies including Kiveton Park Steel (steel and alloy bar and wire), Sheffield Precision Medical (orthopaedic equipment), Beckett MIM (metal injection moulding), Straaltechniek (shotblasting equipment), Carbolite (ovens and furnaces), as well as Rolls-Royce, Tata Steel and many more, have all booked their place to take part in the event.

Speaking about the importance of the event to the company, Tinsley Bridge Sales and Marketing Manager Martin Filleul said: “The networking at the GMF is very good and helps to raise the profile of what we are doing,

“The company has 175-years history at the heart of Sheffield steel heritage and engineering excellence, and being part of this community and networking into the regional dynamic of change, creativity and technical advancement is an important catalyst with the company.
