The Tinsley Bridge Group and the Cambridge Vehicle Dynamics Consortium (CVDC) are pleased to present a four-day event focused on the dynamics of heavy goods vehicles.
The 4-day event, The Mechanics of Heavy-Duty Truck Systems, will be held at Cambridge University between 7-10th July 2014 and will include the definitive University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute (UMTRI) course on heavy-duty truck dynamics, as well as hardware and software demonstrations and hands-on exercises.
The course will be led by Chris Winkler, Steve Karimihas and Tom Gillespie, three of the foremost authorities on heavy-vehicle dynamics.
The heavy truck is a complex mechanical system, requiring its own modelling techniques, analysis programs, parameter measurement methods and test procedures. These will all be discussed during the event.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to tour the Cambridge laboratories and observe field demonstrations of computer-controlled experimental vehicles.
The first day of the event will also offer the unique opportunity to attend the start of the Cambridge to London stage of the 2014 Tour de France.
