Plater/Welder (Full time)

Reporting to: Production Manager

Hours of work: Mon – Thurs 07:30 – 16:00, Fri 07:30 – 13:30

Role & Responsibilities

Your role will be plater welder manufacturing fabrications both bespoke and standard.

You will be responsible for producing high quality fabrications, on time, to budget and in a safe manner.

Qualifications, Skills, Experience & Personal Attributes:

Essential:

  • Apprentice trained with City and Guilds in fabrication and welding or equivalent.
  • Proof of recent welding coding’s.
  • Experience of working in quality driven environment
  • Trained to 1090 and 3834 standards with a minimum welder qualification of BS EN ISO 9606 fillet and butt.
  • Worked with various materials such as carbon steels, Stainless, Aluminium and other exotic specifications.
  • Able to read and understand complicated technical drawings quality documents and QITP.
  • Competent in all aspects of processing steel i.e. cutting, shearing, drilling and bending.
  • Ensure tolerances and parameters are met to satisfy quality and output.
  • Follow and adhere to procedures for both production and health and safety daily, weekly and monthly checks.
  • Ability to work effectively and use own initiative.
  • Be a team player and have a flexible / “Can Do” attitude.

Working Location & Travel Requirement

Based mainly in our facility in Sheffield, travel to client sites may be required. Candidate must have own transport, travel expenses will be paid.

Project Design Engineer (Full Time)

Group company: Tinsley Bridge Services Limited

Reporting to: Engineering Manager

Hours of work: Mon – Thur 07:30 – 16:30 Fri 07:30 – 13:30

Role & Responsibilities

Your role will be to assist in ongoing projects, producing design related documentation inclusive of manufacturing drawings and supporting calculations where required.

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Supporting the Engineering Manager on current projects, producing design documentation.
  • Producing manufacturing drawings based on information provided by the client, using AutoCAD/Inventor software.
  • Ability to carry out FEA analysis.
  • Designing and implementing cost-effective equipment modifications to help improve safety and reliability.
  • Participating in the quality improvement process so that problems are tackled systematically and eliminated through continuous improvement.
  • Developing, and evaluating designs.
  • Ensuring that a product can be made reliably and will perform consistently in specified operating environments.
  • Liaising with suppliers/client to ensure equipment is supplied in accordance with project requirements.
  • Management of projects from initial tender to completion.
  • Carry out site surveys to enable design and production of bespoke structural and mechanical equipment.

Qualifications, Skills, Experience & Personal Attributes:

Essential:

  • HNC/HND minimum
  • Experience working on mechanical handling systems and structural fabrications.
  • Light to medium engineering knowledge and mechanical components/fabrications.
  • Able to produce basic calculations in accordance with relevant BS/Euro standards to prove design.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • A creative approach for generating new ideas.
  • A sound knowledge of computer assisted design using AutoCAD/Inventor software.
  • An excellent grasp of engineering and design principles.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good communicator with good presentation skills.
  • An understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods.
  • Good team working skills.
  • An awareness of the environmental impact of design ideas.
  • The ability to select and integrate proprietary off the shelf components into designs.
  • An apparition of business demands.
  • Enthusiastic and motivated.
  • Produce manufacturing drawings for production.
  • Liase with suppliers and purchase goods required for project delivery.
  • Have good time management and organisational skills.
  • Have good project management skills.
  • A good knowledge and understanding of relevant engineering standards.
  • Ability to carry out technical reviews of client specifications.

Desirable:

  • Degree Level Qualification.
  • Current UK Driving Licence.
  • Critique develop and discuss peers designs and check drawings.
  • Have a good knowledge of welding and the various different processes.
  • Previous experience working on nuclear projects.
  • Experience of hydraulic and pneumatic designs.

Working Location & Travel Requirement

Should be located or be prepared to re-locate to within a reasonable commuting distance from Sheffield.
