Tinsley Bridge have manufactured and installed a new expansion joint for a major steel manufacturer, replacing a section damaged in a high level ducting system.

The expansion joint was made in Tinsley Bridge’s extensive workshops before specialist installation by the Tinsley Bridge team in challenging location 40m high in the roof of the melting shop.

A section of the roof was removed to allow access to the ducting using a 100 tonne crane. To ensure the work was carried out safely the area was fully scaffolded and man safety nets attached underside the working area. The company’s self drive 135 foot Man Extendable Working Platform was used to support the installation sequence from inside the building.
