Technology Deal Signed With Indian Partner

Tinsley Bridge has entered into a technology transfer and technical assistance agreement with Jamna Auto Industries in Puna, India.

The agreement involves the transfer of technology and the technical support required to develop the Extralite Leaf Springs for the Indian market.

Extralite technology enables the manufacture of high strength, lighter springs with increased life for commercial vehicles.

Jamna has market leadership in the manufacture and supply of leaf springs in the huge Indian OEM market, with capacity for 240,000 tonnes/ year across 9 manufacturing units. Globally this is the 2nd largest capacity for leaf springs.

Mark Webber, Managing Director said “Tinsley Bridge has a track record supplying Extralite for European trucks applications. DAF’s LF series was the first to use Extralite Leaf Springs and the technology has expanded into both Truck Stabiliser Bars and highly specialist Torsion Bars for Defence vehicles. The agreement builds on a long relationship over the last 13 years between the 2 companies. It is exciting that there is now the opportunity to support Jamna introduce the advantages of Extralite Leaf Springs in India.”
