Press Roller Refurbishment
We recently took on the challenging refurbishment of a 47-ton Press Roller for the aggregate industry, breathing new life into the worn part through precision engineering.
The item required an extensive work scope including:
• Removal of chocks from the bearings
• Removal of the bearings from press roller shaft by means of oil injection
• Removal of the damaged forged tyre.
• NDT of the shaft, forged tyre taper bore and all critical components.
• Supply and shrink fit the new tyre forging.
• Hardface overlay via submerged arc welding.
• Mounting new bearings.
• Fit chocks back onto bearings and all auxiliaries.
Our in-house engineering design, test, metallurgy and development capabilities are significantly enhanced by strategic collaborations with respected universities, research institutes and government partners that allow us to access high calibre people, advanced thinking, additional resources and cutting-edge test facilities.
