A new £¾m investment in an automated robotic manufacturing line has been completed at Tinsley Bridge to produce tubular stabiliser bars and anti roll bars.

A new £¾m investment in an automated robotic manufacturing line has been completed at Tinsley Bridge to produce tubular stabiliser bars and anti roll bars.

Tubular stabiliser bars and anti roll bars have been developed for heavy duty truck applications to significantly reduce weight and carbon emissions. Weight savings greater than 40% are achieved compared to solid stabiliser bars which increases the fuel efficiency and payload of the truck.

Russell Crow, Tinsley Bridge Engineering Development Manager said “A major challenge in developing Tubular stabiliser bars was achieving extended durability performance in a tube stabiliser bar with a manufacturing process that is cost effective for high volume supply. The innovative technology and investment introduced at Tinsley Bridge delivers a competitive, safety critical, high performance product. We are very pleased our lightweight stabiliser bars are now an OEM fitment in Western European trucks.
