Tinsley Profile

Nicholas Zglobis

Nicholas Zglobis joined Tinsley Bridge Group as a project engineer in 2010 on a three month internship, after which he was offered a permanent position. Initially employed with a flexible brief his role evolved into focusing on design & engineering and sales in the automotive, steel, power generation, rail and defence sectors for Tinsley Bridge Services.

Nicholas studied Industrial Design at the University of Loughborough and after graduating in 2009 he was selected onto an international graduate internship with the construction and trading arm of Samsung in South Korea. This was a great opportunity to gain experience of the fast-paced and increasingly dominating Asian business culture.

Nicholas said: “I believe Tinsley Bridge gives me the foundations on which to build an exciting career in engineering at the company. It has a long history of international trade, well known for being a global supplier in the commercial automotive suspension market as well as strong credentials in innovation. My job enables me to develop a range of skills and to learn from knowledgeable, skilled and supportive mentors.”

Kevin Charlesworth, Production Director of Tinsley Bridge Services, said: “Nicholas has the energy, enthusiasm and passion for engineering. He came with some valuable experience and we trust that we can nurture his obvious talents to help him grow alongside the company. As an industry we need to encourage young people in to engineering and to pass on core skills as well as seek to develop new products and services.”

As part of the company’s commitment to investing in education and training, Tinsley Bridge is funding Nicholas through a Masters in Advanced Engineering at Sheffield Hallam University.

Nicholas maintains his energy levels and keeps his mind active through high adrenalin sports activities, when he isn’t working or studying. He is a keen skier, sailor and motorcycle enthusiast as well as a member of the Scottish Downhill Association for cycling. He is also useful to have around on land or sea, being a black belt in karate and a qualified lifeguard.
